Call for Applications for the Post of Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Technology innovation foundation of IIT Palakkad (TECHIN) is a section 8, not for profit company of IIT Palakkad. It serves as the technology business incubator. Established in January 2021, TECHIN incubates ideas and products that use cutting-edge technologies to solve socially relevant problems.

Emoluments: | Upto 1.4 lakhs/month |
Experience and Qualification: | Post graduate in Business/Science/Engineering Graduate in Science/Engineering background Minimum 5 years of experience of working in the startup ecosystem like incubators/accelerators/consulting/policy making/running your own startup etc. Must have successfully secured grants/fundings in the past such as corporate CSR/ Government grants etc.Experience in managing complex and high intensity projects/programs preferred. A successful exit from his/her startup would be a plus point |

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Looking after day-to-day functioning of the organization
- Managing and leading a team of 10-15 people
- Building organizational processes to run it productively and efficiently with proper awareness and understanding of statutory compliances and company policies
- Supporting startups at ideation, incubation, acceleration, growth & investment stages.
- Building and maintaining a long term pipeline of good startups
- Designing and executing new incubation and acceleration programs
- Building partnerships and creating strong networks with other stakeholders like investors, mentors, consultants etc.
- Building the organization brand and to create a unique identity
- Drafting new proposals to govt and corporates for new startup related programs
- Create and execute strategies to make the organization sustainable for the long term
- Other tasks assigned by the reporting authorities

Scope of the job Including but not limited to:
● Plan and coordinate incubation and training programs, marketing needs of the Incubatee
teams and coordinating with the overall planning.
● Develop the process of efficiently conducting the various programs and events.
● Collaborate with team leaders in preparing plans, timelines and incubatee budgets and
monitoring/reporting their plan, deliverables and expenses.
● Preparation of draft proposals & presentations.
● Finding and coordinating resource persons, mentors, judges, consultants for the various
programs and incubation activity.
● Preparation of content for program collaterals.
● Identifying and coordinating the various requirements of the Incubatee teams, and
coordination of their prototyping and facility usage with IIT Palakkad and the ecosystem.
● Outreach to prospective participants to identify teams for incubation.
Qualification and Experience
● MBA in Project Management or Business Development or Marketing with at least 60%
marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognized University/ Institution.
● An undergraduate in science or engineering with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA
from a recognised University/Institution.
● Preferably two years of experience in management of incubation programs..
● Exposure to the Incubation ecosystem needs / organising training programs are expected.
Knowledge & exposure
● Good English communication skills (written and spoken) and able to build relationships
with internal and external stakeholders. Spoken language skills in at least two of
Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Other Indian languages.
● Capable of structuring their workload.
● Analytical and problem-solving skills, Innovative thinking and creative planning skills.
● Organizational and time management, relationship management and interpersonal skills.

Emoluments & other terms

About GSCOE
Global Sanitation Center of Excellence(GSCOE) established in Jan 2022 at Technology Innovation Foundation of IIT Palakkad(TECHIN) at IIT Palakkad. GSCOE is a center for collaborative and sustainable innovation, incubation, scaling manufacturing, skill development, training showcase and deployment of Sanitation solutions. Technologies that provide reduction in pollutants and pathogens, reduction in use of vital resources and energy, improvement and efficiency in recovery of nutrients, energy, creation of products and by-products that can benefit the society and also provide livelihood, safe and clean sanitation would be the primary focus of the center. Showcase, deployment of the products of the startups, training for Entrepreneurs, micro-entrepreneurs, maintenance and service personnel for the products and sanitation solutions.

Scope of the job Including but not limited to:

Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or environmental engineering or chemistry with 3 years of experience in working on analytical methods of water quality and wastewater characteristics, water/ wastewater/sludge sample preparation, instrument calibration and quality control procedures.
OR
Master’s degree in environmental science or environmental engineering or chemistry with 1 year of experience in working on analytical methods of water quality and wastewater characteristics, water/ wastewater/sludge sample preparation, instrument calibration and quality control procedures.
Desirable Skill Sets:
- Familiarity with environmental engineering laboratory safety practices and protocols
- Knowledge of techniques such as gas chromatography, mass spectrometry, spectroscopy, and microbiological analysis.

Technical Executive – Electronics (TECHIN- GSCOE B); Palakkad, Kerala
Scope of the job Including but not limited to:
- Maintenance of equipment
- Monitoring equipment usage by projects

Qualification

Marketing Executive (TECHIN- GSCOE B ) (1 position); Palakkad, Kerala
We at TECHIN reach out not only to various Institutions across the country, but to fledgling startups in various stages for Incubation and acceleration. We also reach out to Industry for Industry projects, investors for funding our startup incubatees, NGOs and other organisations into ground level community work for our field testing and policy oriented inputs, prospective partners to fund various facets of our programs.
Scope of the job Including but not limited to:
- Developing a long-term marketing strategy and outreach plan
- Prioritise and implement sectoral partnerships for incubation, investors, NGOs, institutions and program funding partners
